Registered Veterinary Technician

Brandie has adored animals ever since she was young, and always knew that she would love a career that allowed her to work directly with pets. When her educational placement during high school landed her here at Parry Sound Animal Hospital, Brandie quickly realized that a career in veterinary medicine was the perfect fit!

Brandie is originally from Carling, and attended Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario to study veterinary technology. After graduating with high honours in 2011, she passed her national exam to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She continued working here at the clinic for a short time before securing full-time employment in Barrie.

After a few years in Barrie, Brandie returned to Parry Sound and re-joined the Parry Sound Animal Hospital family in the fall of 2015. She has developed a special fondness for dentistry work—cleaning plaque and tartar off of a pet’s teeth can make such a huge difference in the animal’s demeanor, and Brandie loves being a part of that transformation! She also enjoys learning as much as she can about veterinary medicine, and regularly takes continuing education courses to keep up-to-date with the latest medical advances.

Brandie lives in Carling with her boyfriend, Richard, and several pets: Diesel is a hound/shepherd mix that Brandie adopted from the local animal shelter in 2007; Cruze is a Boston terrier who wants to play constantly; Missy the tabby cat; and Ralph is a lovable rescued rabbit.

Veterinary Technician

Lesley spent a lot of time as a child helping her father, who dealt with various medical problems. The experience led Lesley to a career in medicine, but she knew that she wanted to focus on animals! After the first week of her co-op career placement at a veterinary clinic during high school, Lesley was hooked—animal medicine was just the thing for her.

A Toronto native, Lesley was hired on part-time at the clinic she was placed in during high school, and then attended Seneca College to study veterinary technology. After graduating with honours, she was hired back by her original employer and began her Veterinary Technician career.

Lesley was married in 1995, then moved to Parry Sound and started working for the local animal shelter. After taking a few years off to stay at home with her two children, she joined the team here at Parry Sound Animal Hospital in 2002 and has been happily serving the pets and animal owners of the community ever since. Lesley particularly enjoys parasitology, and suspects that her love of the subject came from her college professor, who managed to make studying parasites quite fun!

Lesley and her husband, Percy, have two wonderful children named Michael and Tess, and also share their home with a loveable Border collie mix named Tank and a feisty cat who goes by Marvin. As a family, they enjoy snowmobiling and spending as many hours as they can on the trails during the wintertime. In the summers, the Ferris family can be found at the beach, where they like spending time on the water and barbecuing with Lesley’s extended family.

Hospital Manager

Lynn grew up in McKellar, just minutes from Parry Sound, on a farm with plenty of animals. She’s been caring for the earth’s creatures ever since she can remember! For her, tending to pets professionally in the beautiful cottage country of Parry Sound is simply a dream come true.

Before Lynn was an employee here at Parry Sound Animal Hospital, she was a client, and had often brought her own pets to see Drs. Jones and White. She’s been a member of the clinic family since early 1995, and particularly likes chatting with clientele and getting to know their pets personally.

Lynn, her husband, and their two children share their home with a dog named Jiggs and two cats who go by Maddox and Murdock. As a family, they enjoy camping and spending time on the water during the summer, and snowmobiling, skiing, skating, and playing hockey in the wintertime.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Vicki was always surrounded by animals while growing up here in Parry Sound. She spent a lot of time on her grandfather’s farm, where the chores didn’t seem much like chores from her perspective. Vicki has always wanted to give something back to the animals who have given her so much joy throughout her life—she gets to do just that as a member of the Parry Sound Animal Hospital family!

Vicki began her veterinary career when her high school co-op career program placed her here at Parry Sound Animal Hospital. She attended St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, then moved to Barrie, where she would serve pets for the next 10 years. Vicki then moved back to her hometown and re-joined the Parry Sound Animal Hospital team. In total, she’s been caring for pets professionally for over 20 years!

Here at the hospital, Vicki enjoys meeting the different challenges of each day, greeting new clients and their wonderful pets, and knowing that she’s able to make a true difference in the lives of others. She’s also passionate about keeping up with her education—Vicki has completed advanced courses in various aspects of pet care, including critical-care nursing and CPR, and continues with yearly educational training and conferences in order to remain up-to-date in the ever-changing veterinary profession.

At home, Vicki has three Siamese cats named Simon, Ralphie, and Little Bitty. When she isn’t enjoying their company or caring for pets here at the clinic, Vicki likes traveling, gardening, boating, and spending time with family and friends.
